Natural immunity 13x better than vaccine, but still get vaccinated

All things being equal, you are way better protected, on average, from natural immunity (if you survive) than you are from the vaccines. However there are two important addition points:

1-You have to survive the disease which is not a certainty  so vaccination first makes sense

2-The virus is constantly mutating so getting boosters after you’ve had Covid makes sense

SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees had a 13.06-fold (95% CI, 8.08 to 21.11) increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected, when the first event (infection or vaccination) occurred during January and February of 2021.

This makes sense because you would expect the breath and depth of antibodies, memory T cells and memory B cells, once again on average, to be greater with a natural infection versus a vaccine.
