The President, the mainstream media, and the neo-Marxist Democrats are all claiming that the proposed Senate law would close the border if the number of illegal immigrants reached a certain level.
That’s not true.
The proposed law would give the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, at his sole and non-reviewable discretion, the ability to close the border, but would not have required him to close the border.
The president claims he needs the new law to secure the border.
That’s not true.
Current laws require him to detain illegal immigrants or return them to the contiguous country they entered the United States from.
