US President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US will not aid any Israeli counterattack on Iran, US media report, citing senior administration officials.

Axios and CNN report that message was passed during a phone call between the pair.

Axios reports that Biden told Netyanyahu the US will oppose any Israeli counterattack.

CNN reports that Biden said the US will not take part in any such counteraction.

NC Noncitizen Voting Audit - Fatal Flaw?

There is a lot of noise in the Main Stream Media that there is no evidence that noncitizen voting is a problem with US elections. A frequently cited "study" is a 2016 audit conducted by North Carolina.

However, this audit has major flaw.  It only audited people that had DL with non-citizen code who voted. It did not examine was how many illegal aliens with regular DL voted.

The "audit" identified 136 people; 41 (30%) voted illegally, they were not able to contact 61(45%), and they determined that 34 (25%)were actually citizens. The 41 illegal votes are cited as evidence that noncitizen voting is not a major problem.

But major unanswered questions

How many illegal aliens have regular drivers licenses? - FAIR estimates that there are 488,000 illegal aliens in NC. PEW estimates that 72% of illegal aliens are working. If we estimate that 80% of working, illegal aliens have drivers licenses, there would be ~280,000 illegal aliens with regular DL.

How many, if any, are registered to vote? - In 2014 NC found that of the ~10,000 people with a DL with noncitizen code, 1,425 registered to vote. This would equate to 40,000+ illegal aliens registered to vote. 

How many, if any, voted? - If the 30-75% seen in the 2016 audit voted, then that would be 12,000-30,000 illegal votes.

Given the importance of election integrity and the relative simplicity of insuring that only citizens vote:

Why haven't these questions been answered?; and

Why is the MSM pretending the questions has been answered?

Highlights

Economic Freedom - provide optimal incentives and let markets work with transparency.

Economic Control - maximize and control redistribution distorting incentives.

The current system distorts markets and is inefficient but there are a lot of people who profit from the current dysfunction and are able to bend legislation and regulation their way. 

Focus on, and fix the incentives. 

Taxes? To raise revenue for the government with minimal economic damage, junk the current system and enact a simple consumption tax. 

Social programs? People often lose more than a dollar of benefits for each dollar they earn. Fix the disincentives, and we will help more people with less money. 

US health care and insurance? Health care and insurance can be private, fiercely competitive, and innovative. Provide for the poor with voucher of state support, but do not screw up your and my health to do it. 

Financial bailouts? Equity financed banking and narrow deposit taking can end private sector financial crises forever. 

Climate? If you must, a carbon tax or tradable right, instead of massive crony subsidies and vanity projects, which do not save carbon. (If I buy an electric car, that just frees up gas for you to use.) 

Housing? Let them build.

Gender Affirming Care Wrong

A major study of the treatment for adolescents who think they may be a different sex from what they were born by the National Health Services of the United Kingdom shatters most of the progressive left beliefs 

You are either male or female 

In general, children/adolescents who think they are something other than what they are have mental health issues and they should receive counselling.

Gender affirming care hurts children and adolescents. 

Conclusions from The Cass Review, which is nearly 400 pages and took four years to compile:

• Thousands of vulnerable young people were given life-altering treatments with "no good evidence on the long-term outcomes of interventions to manage gender-related distress."
• "It has been suggested that hormone treatment reduces the elevated risk of death by suicide in this population, but the evidence found did not support this conclusion."
• "Social justice" ideology is driving medical decision-making, and "the toxicity of the debate" has created an environment "where professionals are so afraid to openly discuss their views."
• The majority of gender-dysphoric patients in early studies found symptoms desisted during puberty, with most coming out as gay or bisexual later.

AZ not banning abortion

Arizona’s highest court MIGHT uphold a 1864 law. The court put its ruling on hold, and sent the matter back to a lower court to hear additional arguments about the law’s constitutionality.

The law, which was on the books long before Arizona achieved statehood in 1912, outlaws abortion from the moment of conception, except when necessary to save the life of the mother. 

The majority opinion said that a “policy matter of this gravity must ultimately be resolved by our citizens through the legislature or the initiative process.

Similar to the brouhaha caused by the Alabama Supreme Court, this issue would likely be resolved quickly by the Arizona legislators to eliminate the old law and keep their current law, which has a 15 week limit for abortion for any reason

Purdue had to play a level above UConn to win. First half they were close.  Second half they were not close.  Edey did well. The rest were outmatched and outplayed by UConn.
