Maybe(Hopefully) Omicron not so bad

Possible that the South African population had unique immune response due to previous Covid infections but their data seems indicate that even though Omicron may have spread rapidly, the deaths did not follow

NY- White Lives Don’t Mattter?

To receive a potentially life saving Covid antiviral treatment in state of New York there is one requirement that discriminates against white people.

You must be non-white or hispanic/latino, or have a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk for severe illness.

There is no systemic racism II

Socially mediated behavioral issues lie at the root of today’s racial inequality problem

Incarceration disparities function of those who have broken the law — who have hurt others or stolen things or otherwise violated the basic behavioral norms which make civil society possible NOT racism

Educational achievement disparities function of behavior, with cultural patterns, with what peer groups value, with how people spend their time, with what they identify as being critical to their own self-respect NOT racism

Fatherless home disparity (70% of African American babies being born to a woman without a husband) can’t be a good thing and it’s NOT racism

Wealth disparities NOT racist as we see black Caribbean and African immigrants are starting businesses, penetrating the professions, presenting themselves at Ivy League institutions in outsize numbers

Abortion not worse than Rape in Texas

False narratives are tearing our country apart

Texas punishment for rape (aggravated sexual assault) is 5-99 years

Texas punishment for having abortion is NOTHING

The problem is that the main stream media and social media continue to propagate false narratives that help misinform people and help drive a wedge between us.

Over the holidays I was lucky to be with a lot of family. For the most part we avoided political discussions, however there was one instance where I overheard two of my family vehemently agreeing how Texas actually had significantly more severe penalties for Abortion than rape.  I didn’t think this was true but kept my thoughts to myself because I hadn’t previously looked into this claim and didn’t know the facts.   However, after looking up and reading Texas law I found that their belief was absolutely INCORRECT.

Texas has passed a new abortion law that I, not being qualified, and most legal experts, being qualified, belief will eventually be overturned by the Supreme Court, that does provide for CIVIL penalties for anyone providing or assisting in an abortion after 6 weeks except for the health of the mother BUT it excludes the person having the abortion.

Note that I support the right to choose but believe that as the fetus develops there are more and more rights that we as a society might need to consider for the fetus in balance with all the rights of the pregnant woman.

NYT looses objectivity

A recent study of the words used in their articles shows that the “woke” New York Times has gone from being objective and rational to subjective and emotional

“Our results suggest that over the past decades, there has been a marked shift in public interest from the collective to the individual, and from rationality toward emotion.”

Another late Friday - Another Bad Biden Border Briefing

Biden’s policies are a mess AND put many innocents at risk and allow Mexican cartels to get rich.

Let's let masses of poor people in other countries know we're contemplating giving 100's of  $1000 if they come here illegally.  Way to go Brandon!

I support immigration. A lot of immigration. But legal immigration, with a mix of merit based  (engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, doctors, mathematicians, etc.) and opportunity-based (poor people who want to work hard, adopt American values, and get ahead).

(Note-The above numbers are the apprehensions. We do not know how many people get through without being apprehended)

Vaccination Efficacy Preventing Death

So far so good

Natural immunity 13x better than vaccine, but still get vaccinated

All things being equal, you are way better protected, on average, from natural immunity (if you survive) than you are from the vaccines. However there are two important addition points:

1-You have to survive the disease which is not a certainty  so vaccination first makes sense

2-The virus is constantly mutating so getting boosters after you’ve had Covid makes sense

SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees had a 13.06-fold (95% CI, 8.08 to 21.11) increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected, when the first event (infection or vaccination) occurred during January and February of 2021.

This makes sense because you would expect the breath and depth of antibodies, memory T cells and memory B cells, once again on average, to be greater with a natural infection versus a vaccine.

Where’s Brandon as Russia threatens Ukraine

Still looks like Chinese virus came from Chinese lab

In March 2018 Ecohealth proposed working with Wuhan lab to insert furin cleavage site into a coronavirus to study it.

The furin cleavage sight is what allows SARS Cov 2 to have such a high infectious and mortality rate.

To date there has been no natural coronavirus identified with the furin cleavage site found in SARS Cov 2

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21066966-defuse-proposal

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/12/15/wuhan-lab-leak-now-likely-origin-covid-mps-told/

Covid was spreading "virulently" in Wuhan as early as summer 2019 – far sooner than previously thought, according to an intelligence analysis of spending on PCR testing equipment.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2021/10/04/covid-spreading-virulently-wuhan-summer-2019-claims-report/

Sars Cov 2 has a very unusual sequence,  ccgccg, in a very precise location that results in a spike protein with extraordinary affinity/activity (furin cleavage site) with the human ACE2 receptor, making it extraordinarily contagious and infectious. Since 1992 there have been at least 11 separate experiments adding a special sequence to the same location. The end result has always been supercharged viruses. And, in the entire class of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2, the CGG-CGG combination has never been found naturally. Although the double CGG is suppressed naturally, the opposite is true in laboratory work. The insertion sequence of choice is the double CGG. That’s because it is readily available and convenient, and scientists have a great deal of experience inserting it.

THE BEGINNING – Unknown Virus

April 2012 six workers in Mojiang mine fell ill from a mystery illness while removing bat feces. Three of the six subsequently died.

From first becoming too sick to work in the mine, patient 2 survived 57 days until he died. Patient 3 survived 120 days after stopping work. Patient 4 survived 117 days and then was discharged as cured. Each had been exposed in the mine for 14 days prior to the onset of severe symptoms and they were treated for infections with symptoms (on admission) of:  a) dry cough, b) sputum, c) high fevers, especially shortly before death,

d) difficulty breathing, and e) myalgia (sore limbs). Four had low blood oxygen diagnosed as ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and immune damage considered indicative of viral infection. Tendency for thrombosis was noted in patients 2 and 4.  Symptom severity and mortality were age-related (though from a sample of 6 this must be considered anecdotal). Potential common and rare causes of their symptoms were tested for and eliminated. Treatment included ventilation (patients 2-4), steroids (all patients), antivirals (all except patient 5), and blood thinners (patients 2 and 4).

Remote meetings were held with Zhong Nanshan at Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangdong. Zhong is the Chinese hero of the SARS epidemic, a virologist, and arguably the most famous scientist in China. Samples from the miners were later sent to the Wuhan Lab and to Zhong Nanshan. The source of infection was concluded to be  a horseshoe bat with unknown coronavirus, not SARS virus. Samples were taken from patients for “scientific research” and blood samples (at least) were sent to the Wuhan Lab testing positive for serum IgM suggesting the existence of virus infection.  June 27th, 2012, the doctors performed an unexplained thymectomy on patient 4. The thymus is an immune organ that can potentially be removed without greatly harming the patient and it could have contained large quantities of virus.

Science magazine wrote up part of the incident in 2014 as A New Killer Virus in China?

MIDDLE – Virus named BtCoV/4991 (and covertly renamed RaTG13)

2016 Feb; 31(1): 31–40.Coexistence of multiple coronaviruses in several bat colonies in an abandoned mineshaft

BtCoV/4991, a partial sequence of coronavirus and RaTG13, a full sequence of a coronavirus, are from the same bat fecal sample from Mojiang mine in 2013.

Wuahn lab has great interest in SARS-like bat coronaviruses, searched the Mojiang mine for bat viruses on four separate occasions between August 2012 and July 2013, even though the mine is a 1,000 Km from Wuhan, collecting trips began while some of the miners were still hospitalized.

Partial sequence by Wuhan lab first described in 2016, BtCoV/4991 was a 370 nucleotide virus fragment collected from the Mojiang mine in 2013 by the Wuhan Lab.

In 2017 and 2018 Wuhan lab working with BtCoV/4991 with full sequencing.   Full sequence has one segment 100% identical to BtCoV/4991

In February 2020, Wuhan Lab published full sequence of BtCoV/1991 but gave it a new name, RaTG13, without mentioning BtCov/1991 when they had cited BtCoV/4991 twice in earlier publications and once in a genome sequence database .  Further there was no mention of miners or deaths RaTG13

END – SARS Cov2 Pandemics hits the world

RaTG13 coronavirus is the closest corona virus to SARS Cov2.

MEANING  - Coronavirus RaTG13 (aka BtCoV/1991) was the likely virus that infected 9 minors from Mojjian mine in 2012. RaTG13 likely mutated or was modified into the more infectious and dangerous SARS Cov2 under selective pressure within an human/laboratory environment  over prolonged period of time/study. Wuhan Lab had SARS Cov2 in various samples, including thymus, taken from Miners in 2012. Given Wuhan Lab’s extensive work with corona viruses it is likely that SARS Cov2 was accidentally released from the Wuhan Lab.

Why don't these black lives matter?

 Where’s the outrage? Where’s BLM? Where’s Lebron?

Chicago police recorded another 25 shootings, including four murders, over the past weekend alone, as the city’s police superintendent and others testified Monday before a Senate committee on gun violence.

From Friday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 11:59 p.m., there were 25 shooting incidents involving 27 shooting victims. There were four murders reported to police during that time frame.

Another week and more lives lost. Until the Democrats stop propagating the false narrative nothing will change.

Black lives matter - I support the words but cannot support the organization because it propagates the false narrative that systemic racism is the primary cause of the disparities(murders, incarceration, teen mothers, fatherless households, income, wealth, etc.) between blacks and whites.

Racism exists (though not widespread), it’s bad, and we should continue to work to reduce it. Excess police force exists (though rare), it's  bad and we should continue to work to reduce it.

BLM organization’s positions and policies do not address the problems (murders, fatherless households, teen pregnancy, lack of agency) and do not address the key root causes (it’s not excessive police force or systemic racism.)

No! You can't blame the tornado on climate change

IPCC - "trends in tornadoes... associated w/ severe convective storms are not robustly detected...attribution of certain classes of extreme weather (eg, tornadoes) is beyond current modelling and theoretical capabilities...how tornadoes will change is an open question.

The trend in tornado damage is actually decreasing.

Release the transcript!

A video feed of a Taiwanese minister was cut during U.S. President Joe Biden's Summit for Democracy last week after a map in her slide presentation showed Taiwan in a different color to China, which claims the island as its own. Sources, who did not want to be identified due to the sensitivity of the matter, said the video feed was cut at the behest of the White House.

The State Department said "confusion" over screen-sharing resulted in Tang's video feed being dropped, calling it "an honest mistake."

Biden botching Ukraine again

Who might be colluding with whom?

Obama put Biden in charge of Ukraine situation. Russia took over the Crimea and infiltrated Eastern Ukraine where they are fighting a separatist battle with Ukraine. Biden sent blankets and meals ready to eat

Trump, an intellectually lazy, insecure, President lacking gravitas provided lethal aid, primarily javelin antitank missiles  to the Ukraine that have helped Ukraine stop Russia from continuing to take over their country.

Now Russia has massed over 100,000 troops with tanks l, artillery, field headquarters etc. on Ukraine’s border and many experts believe they are likely to invade the Ukraine

Biden is now withholding $300 million of military assistance to the Ukraine.

Let’s go Brandon!

MI shooter’s parents sh…ty but probably not guilty

The parents of the Oakland school shooter are probably not guilty unless it can be shown that they knew their son was going to shoot the students.  Their actions do not seem to fit the three elements required for involuntary manslaughter in Michigan.

It doesn’t mean that they might not be shitty parents, but as a society we should make sure we use the law as it is written and intended not as some would like it to be.

Michigan - 3 required elements of [involuntary ] manslaughter:

1. That the defendant caused the death of the deceased victim, that the deceased individual died as a result of the defendant's action. WEAK

2. That the defendant either:
a. intended to [unintentionally] kill[ed] the victim NOPE
b. intended to do [unintentionally did ] great bodily harm to the victim,NOPE
or
c. created a situation where the risk of great bodily harm or death was very high MAYBE, knowing that as a result of the defendant's actions he or she knew UNLIKELY that serious harm or death would likely result.

3. That the defendant caused the death of the victim WEAK without justification or lawful excuse.

Kim Potter Should be found innocent

Tragedy? Yes.      Manslaughter? No

Daunte Wright was stopped for having an expired license plate and something hanging from his mirror.   During the stop the officers found out that he had an outstanding warrant.  He then resisted arrest and tried to flee.

Officer Potter then shoots him, apparently by accident, thinking she was using her tazer.

The political district attorney Ellison is overcharging her with first and second-degree manslaughter. However, if you look at the elements of second-degree manslaughter in Minnesota(see below), it does not appear that she should be found guilty because there appears to be a key missing element of second-degree manslaughter: consciously taking chances that will kill or severely harm somebody

Three elements required for 2nd degree Manslaughter in MN

1. Causes the Death-yes

2. Culpably Negligent-maybe

3. Consciously - nope

Wright had at least two previous charges against him and at least one outstanding warrant.

Case number 27-CR-19-29850 refers to a 2019 aggravated robbery charge against Wright. The register of actions indicates the notice of hearing for this case was sent to the wrong address, but the court did not respond with a warrant

Case number 27-CR-21-4400 refers to a charge against Wright for possession of a pistol without a permit and fleeing a police officer. The court issued a warrant for Wright’s arrest for failing to appear at the hearing. That warrant was active at the time of Wright’s death.

609.205 MANSLAUGHTER IN THE SECOND DEGREE.

A person who causes the death of another [YES] by any of the following means is guilty of manslaughter in the second degree and may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than ten years or to payment of a fine of not more than $20,000, or both:

(1) by the person's culpable negligence [MAYBE] whereby the person creates an unreasonable risk, and consciously [NOPE] takes chances of causing death or great bodily harm to another; or

(2) by shooting another with a firearm or other dangerous weapon as a result of negligently believing the other to be a deer or other animal; or

(3) by setting a spring gun, pit fall, deadfall, snare, or other like dangerous weapon or device; or

(4) by negligently or intentionally permitting any animal, known by the person to have vicious propensities or to have caused great or substantial bodily harm in the past, to run uncontrolled off the owner's premises, or negligently failing to keep it properly confined; or

(5) by committing or attempting to commit a violation of section 609.378 (neglect or endangerment of a child), and murder in the first, second, or third degree is not committed thereby.

If proven by a preponderance of the evidence, it shall be an affirmative defense to criminal liability under clause (4) that the victim provoked the animal to cause the victim's death.

Biden's meaningless jobs claim

The Biden Administration claims they have created a record number of jobs of any president in their first 10 months.  While this may be a factual number, it is a MEANINGLESS claim.

Biden has an economy that is still recovering from a pandemic shutdown. To take credit for a record number of jobs created in the first 10 months of an administration is meaningless as shown in the chart below where you can see that after the pandemic shut-down Trump created 13 million jobs while Biden has only created 5 million jobs.

What is important is the percent of the population that is working.  As you can see, Biden is still woefully short of where the economy was before the pandemic shutdown and it is likely that his increased subsidization of people not to work and his various vaccine mandates are negatively affecting the labor force participation.

Systemic Racism?

In addition to the horrible black on black crimes leading to outrageous numbers of young black deaths there is also a problem that nobody seems to talk about: the disproportionate black on white crime.

Society needs to do something about both of these but if the Democrats continue to propagate the false narrative that systemic racism is all the problem we
will never identify the real issues.

(Dec 2021) Davide Giri, 30-year-old PhD student in computer science at Columbia university stabbed to death allegedly by Vincent Pinkney, 25, of Washington Heights said to be a gang member based in Queens who was out on parole after serving four years behind bars for gang assault and having 16 prior arrests.

(Dec 2019) Tessa Majors, first-semester freshman at Barnard in NYC studying stabbed to death by two 14 year olds, Luchiano Lewis and Rashaun Weaver and a 13 year old.

(Nov 2021) Shaoxiong “Dennis” Zheng, a recent graduate of the University of Chicago master’s program in statistics shot and killed in Chicago allegedly during a robbery by Alton Spann, 18,  on parole for a 2019 armed robbery and vehicular hijacking conviction when he was a juvenile and had an extensive juvenile court history.

How is this fair to women?

Lia Thomas, a 22-year old transgender swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, has been shattering women’s records at the school.

Before her transition, she competed for three years at Penn as a man, named Will Thomas.

If you have a functioning SRY gene you will develop testes and will not have ovaries and will not be capable of becoming pregnant. Then, if you have normal biological functioning, you will have significantly higher levels testosterone and, on average, be bigger, faster, and  stronger than someone without a functioning SRY.  Almost without exception, this means people born with the SRY are functioning males that have levels of testosterone that allow them to be bigger, stronger and faster, on average, than females.

It is unfair in almost all cases for someone with the SRY gene (male) to compete with someone without it(female.)

Did Pfizer and the FDA kill 50,000 and sway the election?

In October 2020 Pfizer stopped analyzing nasal swabs from patients with suspected COVID in their vaccine trial. If they had analyzed these swabs and reached a cumulative total of 32 infections they would have been required to notify the FDA and the security exchange commission and had to disclose vaccine was very effective.  On November 3 they began analyzing the nasal swabs and found they had 94 cumulative cases and on November 8 they publicly announced the positive results from the vaccine trial.

For some reason Pfizer, after talking with the FDA, decided to try to change the trial design for the first efficacy evaluation from 32 cases to 62 cases. However, until this change was approved by the FDA, Pfizer would have been required to evaluate efficacy at 32 cases. Pfizer would have known that they would reach the 32 cases well before the election and have been required to publicly disclose the efficacy of the vaccine and they would have known that stopping the analysis of nasal swabs would prevent them from getting to 32 cases.

What happened? The study change from initial efficacy evaluation from 32 to 62 cases was approved November 3. By November 8 they publicly disclosed that they had 93 cases, well above the 32 threshold and even above the 62 threshold.

Of course they claim there was no political motivation for this and they had no discussions with the FDA about this. Given they are saying it will  take them 26 years to produce the documents related to their vaccine approval required by FOI requests, one has to wonder.

It is estimated that the delay in vaccine approval caused by their intentional delay of analyzing nasal swabs was about two months and may have resulted in 50,000 additional deaths.
