GDP and Recessions
A good GDP quarter. Will it last? By the only objective measure, 2 quarters of negative GDP growth, Bidenomics has given us 1 recession. Will there be another? We shall see.
Don’t trust evil
Iran and Hamas are evil. You cannot trust evil. And while acknowledging that even a blind pig can find an acorn every once in a while, there is a dramatic difference between Biden and the previous administration regarding trusting Iran and Hamas.

I support Israel and the US
I am not Jewish. I am barely Catholic. BUT- I support Israel. As best as I can tell Israel is not evil. Hamas and Iran are evil and want to eradicate the Jews.
That part of the world began as wandering nomads between the early civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.
It then became Cannan, tribes of Mesopotamians.
Then for a long, long time It was Egypt. Then for a time Alexander the Great’s, then the Roman Empire’s and then once again Egypt. Then for around 1400 years it was the Ottoman Empire’s
It was long inhabited by Christians, Jews, and Muslims.
In 1918, after the Ottoman Empire lost the war, Britain was given responsibility for administering that region.
Britain created Palestine as a homeland for the Jews and Jordan for the Arabs.
The Arabs never accepted the presence of the Jews, and continued to battle and resist.
Britain turned the problem over to United Nations who in 1947 proposed boundaries for Israel for the Jews. The United Nations Security Council accepted these boundaries in 1948.
On the eve of these boundaries beginning, the Arab countries invaded what was to be Israel. They lost. Upon losing this invasion Israel occupied the Gaza strip, and the West Bank.
Around 1956, 1967, and 1972 the Arabs tried invading Israel three times. They lost.
Israel has repeatedly proposed and accepted two state solutions.
Israel tried to give Gaza back to the Egyptians. They don’t want it.
Israel unilaterally left the Gazza strip to allow the Arabs remaining there, calling themselves Palestinians, to rule as they please. The Palestinians elected Hamas who then ruined Gaza and made it a terrorist Haven.
Israel is not evil.
Iran and their terrorist organizations, Hamas and Hezbollah, are evil and have a stated goal of destroying Israel and actively work to do so.
There is an easy way to stop the deaths in the Middle East.
Hamas can lay down their weapons and unconditionally surrender.
Iran can accept the existence of Israel and stop promoting its destruction.
They’re not tax breaks
Corporate tax break or investment discouragement
You often hear of the corporate tax breaks that the IRS through Congress action give corporations. However, what is often the case, is that Congress is deciding what expenses can be recognized when.
Companies spend money. And some cases they can deduct that spending in the same year they spend it. However, in many cases, they are not allowed to deduct those expenses in the year they spend it. They have to spread those expenses over several years. When they invest in equipment, they have to depreciate it over several years. Investments in research and development were allowed to be expense in the year they were spent. Now, the IRS is requiring research and development expenses to be spread over multiple years.
This increases the taxes the companies have to pay in the year they are investing. And while they will then pay lower taxes in later years, this requires companies to find money in the current year to pay the current taxes.
This discourages investment in research just as it discourages investment in equipment.
So, you see, it’s not tax breaks. It’s removing penalties on investment. Investment is good.

Systemic racism or culture?
Another week and more lives lost. Until the Democrats stop propagating the false narrative nothing will change.
Black lives matter - of course. All lives matter. But BLM is hurting blacks because it propagates the false narrative that systemic racism today is the primary cause of the disparities today taking away agency (responsibility for one’s actions.)
If you don’t identify the problem, you cannot fix it. What societal culture in our cities leads to such behaviors( violent crime, murder, teen mothers, fatherless households?)
It cannot be whatever small amount of systemic racism that may exist today because you cannot see the problem with black immigrants
Racism exists (though not widespread), it’s bad, and we should continue to work to reduce it. Excess police force exists (though rare), it's bad and we should continue to work to reduce it.
BLM organization’s positions and policies do not address the problems (murders, fatherless households, teen pregnancy, lack of agency) and do not address the key root causes (it’s not excessive police force or systemic racism.)
Biden Border Unfair
To legally immigrate into the US is almost impossible unless you are a relative (8 year wait), employer sponsored or win a very limited lottery.
No doubt there are highly capable, hard working people throughout the world that want to integrate into US society with its freedom and norms.
Tough luck!
On the other hand Biden continues to allow a porous border for illegal immigants.
The latest Illegal Immigration data released (late Friday of course.)
Biden’s border policies continue to be a mess, put many innocents at risk AND allow Mexican cartels to get rich.
So far illegal immigration is over 4 times more under Biden than Trump, averaging 222,000 per month versus 50,780. At this rate, this will be over 10 MILLION illegal immigrants under Biden's term. And this doesn't count the "got aways," people crossing the border without being caught. And unlike Trump, who retuned illegal immigrants to remain in Mexico until their claimed refugee status could be determined, Biden is releasing illegal immigrants into the USA with a promise to return at a distance future date for court hearings. The result is 100,000's of of illegal immigrants in cities across the country needing food, shelter and education for children and now having permission to work. Just imaging how many more illegal immigrants will be attracted to come and work in the USA, the greatest country.
How is this fair to the many people throughout the world trying to legally immigrate to the USA?
The Founders had three criteria for new immigrants: their qualifications; their assimilation; and their allegiance. Today, I have no clue what Biden's criteria or goals are.
I support immigration. A lot of immigration. But legal immigration, with a mix of merit based (engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, doctors, mathematicians, etc.) and opportunity-based (people who want to work hard, adopt American values, and get ahead).

Media Lies Matter
Early afternoon October 18 a news story came out that Israel bombed a hospital killing hundreds. The New York Times immediately ran the story. Neo-Marxist Democrats immediately ran the story. The mainstream media immediately ran the story.
The result of this story is fomenting anger and hatred throughout the Middle East endangering people people throughout the world.
The source of the story, the evil, inhuman terrorists that murder babies and innocent civilians.
Approximately 12 hours later, real information comes out that shows that the hospital was actually hit by an errant missile launched by the evil inhuman terrorists.
It’s too late. The damage has been done. The New York Times doesn’t care about truth. The Neo-Marxist Democrats don’t care about truth.

Actions not words!
Neo-Marxist Biden’s geopolitical policies didn’t deter Putin, didn’t stop Iran from attacking US 83 times during his term so far and didn’t deter Iran’s proxy Hamas from a horrific attack. Maybe it’s because of his disastrous Afghan withdrawal, his dither support for Ukraine delaying the supply of weapons with the needed capabilities, or his accommodating approach to Iran allowing them to increase their oil sales, trying to reopen nuclear weapon discussions or the $6 billion sweetener he gave to the worlds leading sponsor of terrorism.
Iran is evil. Hamas is evil. We know where the evil leaders are. What will Biden do?
He should lead the efforts to eliminate the evil leaders of Iran and their fundamentalist partners.

The Neo-Marxist Democrat in Chief continues to lie and tear our country apart. There is no state that prohibits/limits homosexuals or adult transsexuals. There are states that limit medically transitioning children if not medically necessary because children are not competent to make that decision.

Labels Matter (and work)
For years I was always frustrated that the Democrats were labeled “progressives “ and Republicans labeled “conservatives” because progressive sounded better, like you were moving forward or you know, progressing. Who wouldn’t want to progress.
It was only after reading George Will‘s book, The Conservative Sensibility, that I learned about the start of the progressive movement which was a socialistic movement that believed that the Administrative State (Government) staffed with the elites was more capable of making decisions rather than individuals. It became pervasive under President Wilson and his policies.
Conservatives, on the other hand, wanted to maintain the country as originally founded based on limiting the role and size of government and relying on the individual’s natural rights.
Given the real definitions of these labels, I had no problem being a Conservative Republican BUT still resented that we didn’t have a better name.
Then came Trump. I was never a fan of Trump and found him intellectually lazy, bombastic, inarticulate, narcissistic, lacking gravitas and poorly spoken. However, I greatly preferred conservative policies over Democrat policies and was forced to hold my nose and vote for him. And I had no problem with the slogan make America great again, MAGA.
Unfortunately, as the first epidemic to hit the US after Trump, TDS, the Democrats and the mainstream media were able to take all of Trump’s flaws and faults, and label them as MAGA.
So today, it’s obvious from the focus groups the Democrats have run, that labeling Republicans as MAGA Republicans helps the Democratic effort to get votes and hurts theRepublican efforts to get votes.
So, what should we label the Democrats. I think the perfect label is Neo-Marxist Democrats. This is actually a perfectly accurate label as it encompasses their economic, government, organization, and social policies.
And besides, nobody likes Marxists, except other Marxists.

Questions
1. What dates and borders are "right?" Many parties can make claims of ownership and fairness. One example would be Native Americans who could argue that they should be given all of North America back as they were here first. My view is that for the sake of peace that the UN 1948 lines should be respected as that was the last time the world "agreed' to lines. Any change of lines would only be thru mutual agreement or as consequences (see below.)
2. If one country invades another should there be consequences and if so, what? My view is yes. If you invade and loose, you risk consequences such as loosing land or having your land occupied.
3. What if the invading country wins? My view is that as best as the world can, countries must work together to stop or reverse one country trying to take another country. I recognize that this may not always be possible due to strategic strength or importance.
4. Does Israel have a right to exist? Palestine was created by the British as a homeland for Jews when they were given responsibility for administering the Southern Levant an area previously controlled by the Ottoman Empire that was on the loosing side of WW I. The UN General Assembly approved the creation of Israel. Israel is a functioning democracy. Israel has always indicated they are happy to live in peace with neighboring countries. Unfortunately they have neighbors, foremost Iran, who have refused to accept the legitimacy of Israel of any form and who have a stated commitment to eradicate Israel. My view is they have the right to exit with the concordant right to defend themselves.
5. Do Palestinians have the right to exist? Yes. Israel is ~21% Palestinian and in Israel they have full rights of citizenship. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the west Bank have the right to live peacefully. They DO NOT have the right to continue to attack Israel and they risk loosing their rights to live as they wish in their territory if they continue to attack Israel. Arab countries surrounding Israel are FREE to allow as Palestinians to immigrate to their countries.
6. Is this "fair?" It seems as fair as denying Native Americans a right to reclaim North America.

The difference is one side encourages, plans and celebrates the murder of babies and civilians . The other side tries their best to minimize collateral damage when targeting Hamas cowardly hiding among civilians.
One side has repeatedly offered and accepted a two state solution. The other side wants to eradicate Jews.

Blow up the bad guys
Whether Iran was directly involved with the Hamas attack on Israel (likely) or only indirectly (certain) through their long term critical support for Hamas and Hamas’s goals of the eradication of Israel, Iran deserves severe consequences: at a minimum reimposing limits on their oil sales and reclaiming the $6 billion recently released and more effective, killing Senior Iranian leaders that back terrorism and destroying their nuclear weapons program.

Liberal Justices Crazy
A criminal can get a break from the 3 strikes and you’re out law if they meet the conditions of 18 U.S.C. § 3553(f)(1):
Does not have
(A) more than 4 criminal history points, excluding any criminal history points resulting from a 1-point offense, as determined under the sentencing guidelines;
(B) a prior 3-point offense, as determined under the sentencing guidelines; AND
(C) a prior 2-point violent offense, as determined under the sentencing guidelines.
The liberal judges are pretending that ”and” is actually “or” wanting to allow more defendants to avoid the three strikes and you are out.
This is CRAZY because the result would be that defendants with multiple 2 point violent offenses would be eligible.

Systemic Racism in Hiring CORRECTED
Last week I posted a picture coming frrm a Bloomberg report. Given the reputation and credibility of Bloomberg I didn't examine their data of method. Now it is clear their report is misleading.
I believe they reported only on the net change in total headcount, NOT the hiring numbers. Their error I believe was ignoring all of the new hiring that replaced employees that left the companies. This later data is not a part of the EEOC reporting so you have to make assumptions. If you assume that 18% of employees are replaced every year you get a different picture, 35% of total hires were non-white.
