Lia Thomas, a 22-year old transgender swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, has been shattering women’s records at the school.
Before her transition, she competed for three years at Penn as a man, named Will Thomas.
If you have a functioning SRY gene you will develop testes and will not have ovaries and will not be capable of becoming pregnant. Then, if you have normal biological functioning, you will have significantly higher levels testosterone and, on average, be bigger, faster, and stronger than someone without a functioning SRY. Almost without exception, this means people born with the SRY are functioning males that have levels of testosterone that allow them to be bigger, stronger and faster, on average, than females.
It is unfair in almost all cases for someone with the SRY gene (male) to compete with someone without it(female.)
